It was 1906, more than 100 years ago, that the Royal Ballet of Cambodia was first performed for the public both locally and internationally. The Royal Ballet of Cambodia has evolved from one generation to the next. But during the Democratic Kampuchea Regime, both the dance performance and training were banned. A former Royal Ballet dancer who lived through the regime talks about her challenges, her love for the classical dance and her efforts to revive the dance after Khmer Rouge was defeated in 1979.
